Stefan Nikolic is a character designer and illustrator from Serbia. He now lives in Austria with his wife Kristina, who is also an illustrator, and their dog, Magi. At 14, Stefan moved to Niš to attend art school, and later to Belgrade to earn his MA in Fine Arts from the University of Arts in Belgrade. Early in his career, he worked with mosaics and oil paintings, exhibiting in shows across Belgrade, Niš, and Kragujevac. Five years ago, Stefan shifted to digital art, joining the Robotpencil mentorship for character design, but keeps his traditional painting skills alive through regular practice. He has worked with independent authors and clients on a variety of projects, focusing on concept art for movies and games. As his style evolved, Stefan discovered his passion for children's books and animation. Books and movies often serve as his inspiration, with the movie Klaus being a standout influence on his work. He has illustrated three children's books, blending mystery, and humor into his work. When he’s not working, his favorite way to spend his free time is going for long walks and playing with Magi. Stefan enjoys classic ‘70s hard rock and tending to his plants.
